Memetics: My First Venture
I am, quite honestly, very new to the Blogging world. I have often used the web as a creative outlet and have tried to create my own system for posting my ideas over the years. This is my first hole-hearted attempt at blogging regularly.
For the past three weeks or so, I’ve been working far too much. Six days a week of 10+ hour days is no way for a person to live. Certainly I’ve been way too tired to write anything, and my day off is my one day off, so I rest and get ready for another stressful week.
This week I am on vacation. I wanted no more of the crap from work. I told myself I would try to post more this week, but I’ve squeezed out one post on Bush’s poor language skills and the representation he has on Americans in general.
I also found when I got back to spending some time with my PC, that I had been tagged by the very good whydontyou blog. Memetics is the name of the article and is the first time I have had even heard the term. Feeling a bit out of the loop, I decided that I had to do some research on the idea of memes, and it was fascinating.
I am supposed to now to do a couple things. I am not sure I am in any shape to do so at this time.
First, I am supposed to choose five articles that show the evolution of my blog. That would be like analyzing the evolution of the human species over the last 100 years. I am still quite new to blogging and really haven’t got much of a history.
I started a little over two months ago with a post on the value given to the victims of priests in the LA area. I really tried hard to concentrate on religious aspects as I started, but realized that I had to throw out philosophy and politics as well as any general topics I may want to cover.
First and last for now.
Also, in that span of a couple months, I’ve tried several different themes. I’ve debated developing my own, and I suppose I will in time. I’m using one that I found that focuses on nature. I believe that may even be the name of the theme. It seems well done, but does not provide everything I want in a theme for my blog. Maybe while I am on vacation this week…
I am supposed to also find six other blogs and tag them. Not blogs that have already been tagged. I now have more research to do.
I am thankful to Heather for tagging my humble little blog. This has also given me a spider web’s trail to follow in order find other interesting blogs. I guess that’s the point in a way.
