New Testament Christian Church, inc
The inc is my favorite part of the title.
I used to live on a fairly large lot out in the middle of nowhere. It’s more populated now and I’ve moved away several times. At the beginning of the road was a church and they owned much of the land in the area.
It was the New Testament Christian Church, inc. and they had some tremendous structures at the beginning of the road. The church itself was very large. This isn’t different from so many of the churches that you and I may see that exist throughout the world, but the first two or three houses were very nice as well. I’m guessing the head pastor.
As you drove down the road, the church developed these dorms. One right after another with many young men living inside. They walked around in their suit and tie all day regardless of the weather or the day of the week. Very few women lived in this community, and they were likely only there because they were married. Very occasionally, somebody would build a single-family home. A man and a woman would move in. The women always wore dresses.
Seemed like such a cult-like atmosphere. The leaders living in very nice homes while the rest of the community lived in tightly-packed dorms. They would come to our house at least once a year asking if we’d like to join them in their church. Not a chance in hell.
And they kept building and adding on to their church and developing this cult.
I moved in to this area when I was 20 and their cult was building but not quite a nuisance. At 20 I had not really had a chance to build anymore than opinions about religion and society. This was an excellent first hand look at religion.
I was amazed at what people were willing to give up in order for a piece of “heaven.” Everything. Maybe I shouldn’t be. Maybe these people were taking a step up in the world and truly benefited from this and had basically purchased a crutch by which to live. The amount they had to give to the church had to be far more than taxes.
Conversely, I was always amazed at how much life religious leaders are willing to suck in order to provide themselves with material benefits. The differences between the leaders and the minions was truly night and day. Yet the church keeps growing.
I was living in this area back before I really had access to the internet. Back before information was so easy to get. So I looked them up. The word “cult” comes up over and over again. I found no positive references to them and they are nationwide. Incredible.
I also found a couple blogs created and maintained by former pastors of the church. While both were still Christian, they found the cult-like atmosphere, among other things, to be very disturbing.
Point of this entry?
- Living there had a significant impact on who I am today.
- People are easy to manipulate.
- Greed is bad.
Such simple little points.

Hi…someone “clued” me in to your post above about living in Washington and watching this cult grow before your very eyes.
I used to be a member and now post publicly to expose what they are.
I understand now why so many people begin to think as you do…but I do not agree with your anti-God rhetoric.
You’d be amazed to find out how truly simple and basic and wonderful true Christianity is.
Not here to change your mind…just to thank you for posting this information.
I will post a link from my blog to yours…and if you’d like to stop by and share some more of your “insight” about this group…be my guest.
I think it’s neat to hear from someone who was not in the group…but who watched it from afar. Your perspective in that regard is invaluable.
Tracy
Well, I’m glad somebody clued you in on my post and I’m glad you were able to escape their clutches.
No need to agree with my ideology. I do believe in tolerance above all else. My greatest frustration is when anybody does not tolerate others and their philosophies.
With that said, I was atheist before I lived amongst the NTCC (I’ll do better neighborhood research next time I buy a house), and have been ever since. It’s not experiences like that which drive my philosophies.
As I posted on your blog, Tracy, your post has created a couple new and, hopefully, good ideas for posts.
Thank you.
Hey there “X”…
You offered your help when you posted a comment on my blog.
Would you mind shooting me an email? I want to pick your brain.
Thanks so much,

Wow, brings back old memeries. I lived there in the dorms. Though I am no longer with this group, when I was there it was a collage. It seemed every week they would come up with new by-laws for the students. Seemed like it took a few alarms to go off in my head befor I left. But I truly have came out a better person for it.
Maybe I can help someone out of the jam I was in.
You said they are nation wide- NO- they are world wide.
Well, Crips, welcome to freedom.
Although we should always become a better person for each struggle we go through, it’s unfortunate that this kind of “jam” is so dominant in our culture.
hmmm it seems to me you are not a christian and if your not i wont bug you about it but will say for those that “were” i dont say were becuase you left the church i say were becuase of your bitterness and hatefulness how should this really been delt with prayer by others walking out without saying anything and leave it in Gods has as you pray to Jesus with a pure and true heart is God not big enough in your life that He can move mountins or a church in the right step or in the step that you believe leads to God i dont hate you im not angry i am sad however but its ok i will pray becuae each soul is important to me even the ones i dont know and no i wasnt there when it happened but that doesnt matter im there now and i dont see a single thing wrong with it but “if” i did i would tell them nicly that i just dissagree with a few things and that im not willing talk about it and i wont be back so have a nice day and Good bye and then i pray and continue to pray for them and for everyone that goes there but what is this hate? did Jesus teach i mean yes Jesus said you of the your father the devil but if that person doesnt wanna listen to those words all you can do is walk away and people call mormons a cult too but is that any way to win ppl over by calling out otheres like that its not what you but how you say it remember no one really cares how much you know until they know how much you really care.. i just dont understand all the blod the websites the video so much time into some church when all you need to do is pray and ask God to you deal with it and to help the church itself i just dont see the love anyway this post is manly those who were saved and yes i know i didnt add any grammer and my spelling is bad im hurry for soul winning so yeah anyway have nice day everyone and remember whatever happened there Jesus still loves you! good bye
im glad to be out of the cult like infulence of ntcc. and glad to grow on the inside. and just because someone leaves ntcc doesnt mean there not saved, lets just leave that for God to decide, not some wannabe preacher who cant follow the basic rules of christianity. take the telephone pole out of your own eye then maby you’ll see clearly..
